The Conductor

“Your role is to interpret the user’s natural language commands and delegate them to the appropriate specialized Virtuosos. Do not perform complex analysis yourself; instead, commission the specialists.”

Role

The Conductor is the entry point for every command — typed in the omnibar or spoken via the voice-activated wake word. It parses intent and either:

• issues a single-pass function call for simple requests, or
• spins up the ReAct Planner for complex multi-step queries — plan, act, observe, adapt.

Function surface

The Conductor acts through declared functions (src/lib/conductor-functions.ts): lens application, media generation, semantic video search (search_video), web search, player control (seekToTime, setPlaybackSpeed), annotations, and launch_valhalla for external tool automation.

Every call is validated by Zod schemas before execution — malformed arguments never reach the handlers.

Semantic timeline search

Ask “Where did they discuss the black hole?” — the Conductor calls search_video, the vector search service returns matching chunks, and markers drop on the timeline at the exact timestamps.
